Our team of Physical and Occupational Therapists offers a personalized, holistic approach to care, specializing in Neurological Rehab, Therapeutic Massage, Functional Training, Dementia Care, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Vestibular Rehab, Prosthetics, Low Vision Therapy, Parkinson’s Disease, Dry Needling, Fall Prevention, Incontinence Management, and Wound Care.

We provide in-home, one-on-one sessions with client-centered assessments and treatment options to meet your goals and support your journey.

Physical Therapists

  • Shayla is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals by empowering them to take a proactive approach to recovery. Her interest in the human body - understanding how and why it works and how it can be rehabilitated after an event or injury - started at an early age due to her journey with multiple knee injuries and surgery. She believes in addressing the whole person, including physical, mental, and emotional health, while also considering social factors. Her primary area of interest is treating neurological conditions, fall prevention and balance retraining, seniors’ health education, and. Her treatments focus on retraining the entire body while emphasizing stability with motion and functional activity independence.

    She has experience in various settings, including outpatient orthopedics, hospital-based care, and skilled nursing. However, her passion lies in gerontology and neurology to specialize in geriatric and neurological physical therapy.

Dr. Shayla Adams, PT, DPT, CEEAA
Owner, Doctor of Physical Therapy

  • Maura is passionate about optimizing the lives of older adults and those with neurological deficits. She believes people of any age are capable of amazing things when provided the support and skills needed to meet their individual goals. Age does not have to be a limitation. When she is not seeing clients, Dr. Ament can be found supporting her children’s many academic and athletic endeavors, walking her dog along local trails, traveling the world with her husband, or enjoying an hour to herself at the gym.

    • Boston University: Doctorate in Physical Therapy

    She has clinical experience in various settings, including working at Massachusetts General Hospital across acute, inpatient rehab, outpatient care, skilled nursing, and home health. While there, she engaged in advancing early mobility in the ICUs and shared her knowledge by mentoring students as a senior clinical therapist.

  • She is a Neurologic Certified Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association and is passionate about vestibular dysfunction.

Dr. Maura Ament, PT, DPT, NCS
Doctor of Physical Therapy

  • Dr. Katie Beatley brings over 16 years of experience as a physical therapist, working across various settings with a focus on outpatient orthopedic and geriatric rehabilitation. She believes in a holistic approach to rehabilitation, helping clients maximize their potential through personalized care. Outside of her clinical practice, Katie enjoys walking her dog, practicing yoga, gardening, and spending time with her family.

    • James Madison University: Bachelor of Science

    Katie has worked in diverse settings, including home health, skilled nursing, acute care, and outpatient care, with a primary focus on clients with orthopedic and neurological diagnoses.

  • Katie is LSVT BIG certified, specializing in the treatment of individuals with Parkinson's disease. She is also a certified Nutrition as Medicine-informed practitioner and a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, with additional certifications in children's yoga and restorative yoga.

  • Bethany is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association; a Master Trainer for A Matter of Balance, a nationally recognized fall prevention program; Trigger Point and Dry Needling Certified Practitioner.

Dr. Christopher Levesque, PT, DPT

  • Dr. Mike is passionate about helping his clients reach their goals and optimize their quality of life. He is a strong believer in in evidence-based medicine and strives to provide the highest standard of care for his clients. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking, boating and spending time with his family.

    • Sacred Heart University: Doctorate in Physical Therapy

    Mike has been practicing for over fourteen years. His experience is vast, having worked with a wide range of orthopedic diagnoses including sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic conditions.

  • Dr. Mikes has an extensive background in treating low back pain, sciatica, SI joint dysfunction through the lens of both McKenzie and Mulligan. He is an Athletic trainer and a board-certified Sport Physical Therapist, and it looking forward to the opportunity to create programming for the senior athlete.

  • Olivia has a special interest in providing neurologic and vestibular rehabilitation to the geriatric population. She prioritizes the implementation of research-based, functional exercise to enhance neuroplasticity and maximize patients’ functional independence and quality of life. She emphasizes patient education and empowerment in all aspects of her care practice, and she is excited to guide you on your journey to achieving your goals. 

    Olivia grew up locally in East Lyme, CT. Some of the things she loves the most are her cavapoo pup (Billy), warm days by the sea, and spending time with her family.

    Olivia’s experience comes from working in the home and outpatient settings providing neurologic rehabilitation and vestibular therapy, as well as orthopedic and pain management services across the lifespan. She is most passionate about helping older adults restore function, improve vitality and quality of life.

  • Olivia is a board-certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. She is a certified Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist through the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Parkinson’s rehabilitation specialist trained and certified in Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!) and a certified spinal cord injury specialist through Gaylord Hospital.

    Anne brings twenty-four years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant and ten years as a Rehabilitation Technician working with an interdisciplinary team of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologist.

Anne Nile, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant

  • Her athletic background and personal experience with family members inspired her to go into physical therapy. Early on, Jenn was taught the importance of physical and mental health as she helped her mother work through pain caused by cancer. In addition, her father suffered from chronic pain due to back injuries requiring multiple surgeries, and she also cared for her sister, who had Multiple Sclerosis. Through all of this, she “learned the importance of the mind-body connection and just how powerful it can be.” As a result, Jenn is driven to make positive and meaningful changes to the health ’ health and quality of life. Outside of work, she enjoys running, working out, hiking, boating, paddle boarding, and going to the beach.

    • Community College of Rhode Island: Physical Therapy Assistant Degree

    She brings over thirty years of experience in a variety of setting including outpatient orthopedics, subacute rehabilitation, and home health. Jenn brings a deep seeded passion for rehabilitative science, health, wellness and a holistic approach to client-centered care. She has advanced training in massage therapy, aquatic therapy, therapeutic exercise and urban poling.

  • Through her experience in outpatient, inpatient, and home health, Jenn enjoys working with an array of clients whose goals include orthopedic rehabilitation, balance retraining, sports injuries, and pain relief. Jenn advocates for preventative practice and takes pride in knowing her client’s needs, goals and limits. She believes in treating clients through education and providing evidence-based, individualized treatment plans using a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to minimize pain, improve independence and prevent symptoms from reoccurring.

Jennifer Rosa, PTA

Occupational Therapists

  • Sarah graduated in 2011 from Worcester State University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. She's worked in a variety of settings from acute care to neuro rehab. She is very proud of the fact that she (along with her business partner and fellow therapist friend) developed and patented the first and only weighted attachments for assistive devices to be used widely in neuro rehab for adults and children. She feels strongly that in order to allow her patients to have the best outcomes, she has to address the person holistically and think outside the box. She has 2 little kids, Emma and Lennox as well as a Vizsla named Tego and absolutely love to travel and spend time on their boat in the summer. 

    • Worcester State University: Masters of Occupational Therapy

    Sarah brings over a decade worth of experience to the INSPIRE Team, including acute care and inpatient rehab, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient pediatrics and home care, heavily focusing on neuro rehab in all of those settings.

  • Sarah is a Certified Stroke Rehab Specialist (CSRS), Certified Vestibular Rehab and Concussion Therapist by the American Institute of Balance (AIB-VRT/CON), and LSVT BIG certified for Parkinson's.

  • Kim is passionate about building solid relationships with her clients and empowering them to achieve their goals. Kim brings creativity, energy, enthusiasm, and clinical and real-life experiences to her practice. She is always excited to collaborate with her clients to enable them to participate fully in their meaningful activities.

    • Quinnipiac University: Occupational Therapy

    Kim brings twenty-four years of experience to the INSPIRE Team, including outpatient orthopedics, neurological rehabilitation, and subacute occupational therapy (aka skilled nursing), facilitating the transition home after a hospital stay.

  • Kim works with a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries. She looks at posture, releasing tightness, and strength and conditioning to increase mobility and independence at home. She is a Parkinson’s Specialist and is certified in LSVT Big.

Kim Bucko, MS, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist

  • Peter became interested in occupational therapy while working in a group home, where he was exposed to the magic of sensory regulation via an occupational therapist. Through the use of simple sensory strategies, all residents improved their self-control. Peter is dedicated to wellness and understands the importance of movement to maintain health and improve performance in the occupations we participate in every day. He believes in being proactive vs. reactive in terms of safety and fall prevention. In the future, we all need to have a plan for retirement. We need to either stay or get active to minimize chronic illness and improve quality of life. He is enthusiastic about treating people with dementia and other neurological conditions as well as training their caregivers to allow the elder to age in place for as long as possible.

    When not working, Peter has two dogs who take him for a walk several times a day and make sure he stays busy paying attention to them. He lives with his youngest daughter while she goes to school to improve her skill set and begin a career in cosmetology.

    • New England Institute of Technology: Master’s of Occupational Therapy

    Peter has been an OT for 8+ years. He studied to be an occupational therapy assistant, then an occupational therapist at New England Institute of Technology, graduating in 2016. He has worked in a quasi-outpatient setting with a focus on mental health and community re-entry, worker’s compensation rehab, and has the majority of his experience in home health.

  • Peter has additional training in dementia care, geriatrics and breathing as an adjunct to pain management. He has much experience in finding the right piece of equipment to enhance independence in the home and allow elders to age in place.

Cassandra the OT
  • Cassandra is dedicated to helping seniors regain independence through neurologic rehabilitation. She focuses on research-based, functional exercises to enhance neuroplasticity and improve quality of life. Cassandra empowers her patients with the knowledge they need to advocate for themselves throughout recovery. She takes time to address the mental and emotional aspects of healing, recognizing the importance of treating the whole person. Originally from Northern New York, Cassandra moved to Connecticut to be closer to family while raising her new baby girl. She enjoys prioritizing health, spending time at the beach, and cherishing moments with her family.

    Cassandra brings extensive experience to our team, providing personalized care for individuals with neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease. Cassandra is dedicated to understanding each patient’s unique needs and advocating for their well-being throughout recovery. Her commitment to making a positive impact is evident in all she does.

  • Cassandra's interest in neurologic rehabilitation includes motor function and coordination, balance and fall prevention, cognitive rehabilitation, activities of daily living (ADLs), adaptive equipment training, pain management, neuroplasticity-focused exercises, and patient and family education.

Cassandra Freeman, MS, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist

  • Anna graduated from Midwestern University in AZ with her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2019 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation at the University of New Hampshire in 2015. Anna has spent the majority of her time working in the acute rehab setting, focusing on vision rehab, stroke rehab, spinal cord injury, and pelvic floor health. Anna is passionate about helping her patients achieve their goals and get back to their cherished occupations within their homes and communities. In her free time, Anna enjoys working out at her CrossFit gym, skiing, hiking, and spending time with her daughter, husband, and their dog.

    Anna has gained experience as an Occupational Therapist working in acute care rehabilitation. She sees this as a natural transition to move into the home to progress care and help individuals with similar needs.

Speech Therapy

  • Pamela earned her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Southern Connecticut State University in 2008. She has experience working in the acute care and outpatient settings evaluating and treating patients with swallowing, voice, and neurologically-based cognitive-communication disorders. Her clinical interests include neurological rehabilitation for movement disorders, stroke, concussion, traumatic brain injuries, voice disorders, and swallowing disorders.

    Pamela is trained in specialized interventions including: Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, Expiratory Muscle Strength Training, and manual therapy. She is also a certified SPEAK OUT! provider for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Pamela is passionate about helping patients achieve their goals and being able to functionally communicate.

    In her free time, Pamela enjoys running, gardening, cooking, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with her husband and two children.

  • Megan received her Bachelors of Science at the University of Rhode Island in 2014. She went on to New England Tech to become a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in 2017. Since becoming a COTA, Megan has worked in nursing homes and in the home health settings where her passion for promoting the highest level of independence in her clients truly shines. Megan has experience as a Rehab Director of a nursing home which lead her into 2023 when she became a mother.

    In her spare time, Megan loves to spend time with her husband, son and their dog. She also enjoys the beach, shopping and traveling.
